Way too limited Boondock Saints 2 opening!

I really wanted to see this movie - this is ridiculous!

Are we having another Paranormal Activity issue here? Fans are having a hard time finding Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day in theaters. It looks like we’re going to have another situation where movie goers will have to “demand it” at their local theater. According to Associated Content, screenings for the film are few and far between so fans will have a hard time catching a show.


Boondock Saints 2 will hit theaters today in a very limited release, the film will only pop up in about 65 venues this Halloween weekend, which sucks! The majority of these screenings will take place in Los Angeles and New York, and if you’re one of the millions who don’t live in those cities, you’re screwed.

You can search online to see if you’re one of the lucky ones who can get their hands on a ticket but other than that you have to wait it out like the rest of the world. Some people aren’t taking this neglect laying down, as several online petitions have been created to generate theater expansion for the film.

Paranormal Activity is a bait and switch of The Blair Witch Project and it’s found itself in almost every major city thanks to grass roots campaigning. Can we do the same for Boondock Saints 2?

The first one gained a "cult" following when it went to DVD. It was extremely limited release originally playing in like under 20 theaters. The movie itself is as good as you can get next to Tarantino in terms of an action movie with a great storyline. Unfortunately the first one got a lot of bad reviews because so many critics took the film as a wannabe Tarantino film. If you get a chance I would highly advise driving to a local Blockbuster to at the very least rent it, if not buy it.

Anyways Granite, you may be in luck, because the studio actually plans on expanding the release on November 13th to more theaters. Thankfully most of the ones it's in now are on the east coast because I managed to find a theater only 20 minutes away that had it instead of driving to New York. Overall its hard to say if this was better then the first, maybe because I felt William Dafoe really made that movie, but then again there's a lot more of the Brothers father in this film and it presents itself very well with background story without straying away or becoming too confusing like so many other films do. If you liked the first one you most certainly will love this one, and to anyone that hasn't seen the first one it is more or less a cinematic marvel along the lines of Resevoir Dogs and such. A must see.

why should I go to Blockbuster when I can just steal it... ahem... borrow it from my stores?

LOL good point, I work at Blockbuster but not saying that getting a movie from elsewhere is bad....
