Feeling guilty over their inaction, Helene spends time with the girl, Noemie, whom she discovers is a prostitute who was sold into slavery by her family back in Algeria. Helene continues to help her as Noemie's pursuers continue to try to snatch her to send her back to Algeria, in an attempt at escape that draws the two women closer.
