Stoked: The Rise and Fall of Gator

(palm pictures) Release Date: Director: Helen Stickler Cast: , , , , Plot: This documentary focuses on the rise of skateboarding culture in the 1980s as evidenced by one of the sport\'s biggest stars, Mark \"Gator\" Rogowski, whose bad boy attitude made him a poster boy for the burgeoning scene as it went from its independent roots to becoming a very big business. Falling out of favor and out of the limelight as vertical ramp skating was replaced by street skating in popularity, the same anger and attitude that made Gator a star led him to rape and murder a friend of his ex-girlfriend in 1991, for which he is now serving 31-years-to-life in prison. The film mixes period footage of Gator with interviews of most of the major figures of the skateboarding community. Website: stokedmovie.com/\" target="_new">link
